Thanks for posting link. I so want to see this film. Hope it will be released on DVD before too long.

Thank you! Here's the blog they keep showing on the screen. http://barafundlebay.wordpress.com/ It looks overwhelmingly sad. Benedict looks impressive in it.

Thank you for finding and posting! Want to see this terribly badly, even if it's likely to break me completely.

How many fangirls would it take to hire a cinema and get them to give a screening of the unreleased works of Benedict?

Well that's actually an interesting question. There's a number of indie cinemas that rent out for private screenings- if they can get the film, you can watch whatever you want- but that's entirely dependent on whether it's on their distributor's catalogue or not.

As far as I can tell (from rummaging around on the interweb, breeding ground of erroneous information that it is), neither Third Star nor Burlesque Fairytales have been on general or even limited release yet (any screenings have been as part of film festivals), so neither are likely to be on distribution lists.

However, if enough people make a noise about how much they want something to be released, it would probably make distributors keener on taking it up. It's working out at whom to direct the frantic squealing that's tricksy.

Well if a film does not have a distributor, there's no one to squeak AT because no one has picked up the rights so no one is responsible for it.
If it has a distributor has got the distribution rights and is just sitting on them, then you flap at the distributor.

Independent films often get picked up for distribution by executives making deals at festivals, which is why so many of them go that route.

Hmm, these things are never straightforward.

There's a very good indie cinema not so far away, which, provided some of the less cower-at-my-knowledge-of-film-which-I-will-not-share-with-you-tiny-mortal staff are on shift, might be able to find out for definite.

Oh my God - I would be SO SO up for this if we could get it organised!!!

There must be enough fangirls on here to make it viable surely?!!!

Something I am very tempted to ask my local cinemas - Brixton Ritzy and Clapham Picturehouse. We are hitting the Clapham Picturehouse in January anyway - maybe we should ask them then!!!

Oh I'm just dying to see this film - no pun intended. I know Benedict will be fantastic and probably make me cry my little heart out, in the best of ways.

PS: Still disappointed that the Zürich Film Festival screening took place a week or so before I returned to Switzerland from the US! I do hope there will be some form of release which I can see soon...

It's on sendspace so it's only got a limited number of downloads, but here you go-

http://www.sendspace.com/file/marn03

Perhaps someone can upload it elsewhere if required.

I just finished uploading it to Megaupload. It's an mp4 file. But I noticed you can download it from Vimeo too, as a .mov version, if you join there. Should I upload that too?

Thank you so much for this - for some mystery reason this film had entirely passed me by - but it looks intriging and I will definitely now go and see it! Thanks for sharing.
